Sponsored by the National Society of the Gifted and Talented, the Summer Institute for the Gifted (SIG) is a three-week program for academically accelerated students.  Students take five innovative, challenging courses in various disciplines, and SIG’s excellent faculty engages students with hands-on learning.  The SIG Residential Program gives students ages 10-17 the opportunity to live on campus at UCLA, UC Berkeley, Yale, Princeton, or many other top universities.

For an option closer to home, there is a Seattle Area SIG Day Program at Overlake School in Redmond for students ages 4-14.  Instructional courses cover humanities, sciences and mathematics, and multi-disciplinary courses. Every student selects three courses and has a recreational period. Each class meets five times a week for 90 minutes each. Courses are taught at levels appropriately challenging for academically gifted students who are ages 4-14 as of the program start date.

The Summer Institute for the Gifted is a non-profit program sponsored by the National Society for the Gifted and Talented (NSGT).  SIG began in 1984  and has expanded over the past 26 summers to include 11 residential sessions in 9 states and numerous day programs. In 2010, they served close to 2000 academically gifted students in Kindergarten through 11th grade.
